Well, I have become one of those bloggers who has waited 2 weeks to update the blog. Now, instead of having several small post, I have to do one big one. So this may be long. Forgive me.
Simon's parents came to visit for 2 weeks. We really enjoyed their visit. I think we kept them so busy that they had to go home to rest. During the first week they were here they went to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's house, with my parents for a couple of days. If you scroll down you can see the post from our anniversary. For dinner we went to the Melting Pot. It was wonderful. Thanks to Jim and June and Pauline and Robert for a wonderful meal!
The pictures below are from the trip to Wilmington Simon and I took with his parents. The first thing we did was to go to the Aquarium at Ft. Fisher. It was great! I highly recommend it.

This snake was not even part of an exhibit. We saw him outside!

On the way back from the aquarium, we stopped in Kure Beach to see the ocean. It was kinda cool and overcast that day. Not a good day for sun bathing.

The day we arrived, August 25th, was Pauline's birthday. In addition to the aquarium and the beach, we went to eat dinner at a very good Italian place in Wilmington. Loved it!! The next day we went to tour the USS North Carolina Battleship. I don't remember it being that long of a tour. We were inside the boat for over 2 hours! By the time we reappeared at the top of the boat, we realized it had been pouring rain. No wonder it was so hot and humid inside the boat.

After finding a late lunch in Wilmington we decided to take a carriage ride through some of the historic district. We saw some beautiful houses. The day we were leaving we decided to tour Bellamy Mansion. It was huge and beautiful. We got to see all 5 floors of the house.

We had a great time with Pauline and Robert. Time always seems to go by so quickly. We were sad to see them go.

Girl, I didn't know you were coming to Wilmington!! It looks like you had a great time and got to hit all the highlights of the town. Next time you come, we'll have to get together for a meal!
